Joe Ozorio
President
Joe Ozorio is the current President of the DRIE Toronto Executive Team. Joe is a former Senior Managing Consultant, who worked in the fields of business continuity, pandemic planning, crisis management & communications, IT Disaster Recovery, plan exercising, and Agile and structured innovative thinking workshops. Recently retired from IBM, Joe still maintains active interest in the BCM profession, helping to support and map industry directions for fellow BCM and Resiliency practitioners and managers. Joe has served on the DRIE Toronto Board of Directors for over 10 years in various capacities, and is honored to be its current president.

Gillian Coyles
Vice-President and Social Media and Program Director
Gillian Coyles is the Vice President of the DRIE Toronto Executive Team. A risk manager dedicated to resilient organizations and communities, Gillian supports RBC’s Crisis Management Team by playing a leading role in ensuring the organization is prepared for and effectively responds to internal and external threats that pose significant operational and reputational risk to the organization. Gillian’s past experience includes business continuity and emergency management in both private and public organizations, including The Canadian Tire Corporation and Ontario Public Service. Gillian has a passion for purpose-led organizations and is personally and professionally interested in the intersections between business, climate, and communities. Gillian holds a master’s degree in Disaster and Emergency Management from York University and post-graduate certificates in Risk Management and Strategic Public Relations, as well as her ABCP from DRI Canada.

Rezwana Islam

Secretary 
Rezwana Islam is the secretary on the DRIE Toronto Executive Team. She is currently the Senior Business Continuity Analyst for The Hudson's Bay Company & Saks 5th Ave. She holds a master degree in Disaster and Emergency Management, from York University. She also holds an Honours Bachelors Degree in Economics and Computer Science, from the University of Toronto. Her professional areas of interest include cyber resilience, crisis management, and disaster recovery.



Gayle Mitcham - Treasurer

Tara Vaporidis
Sponsorship Director

Tara is the Sponsorship Director of the DRIE Toronto Executive Team. She is an Emergency Planning and Exercise Officer for Emergency Management Ontario at the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General. Previously, she worked in the Fire and Life Safety Engineering department at LRI Engineering Inc where she developed Emergency Management Plans as well as conducted building audits, audited fire drills and wrote fire drill reports and fire safety plans. She has also previously worked in the Community Safety department at York University where she led the research for the development of the University Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA). She is particularly interested in risk perception, social vulnerability to disasters, nuclear hazards, business continuity, hazard risk management, and geographic information systems (GIS). Tara holds a Specialized Honours Bachelor’s degree and a Masters degree in Disaster and Emergency Management as well as a Graduate Diploma in International & Security Studies. Tara is also a Student Subcommittee Member for the Ontario Association of Emergency Managers (OAEM), a Personal Disaster Responder with the Canadian Red Cross and an Emergency Volunteer with Global Medic.

Anton Coetzee
Member Communications and Digest Director

Anton Coetzee is the Member Communications and Digest Director of the DRIE Toronto Executive Team. Anton specializes in mastering and Controlling Chaos with Actions and Deeds, not just Words... A Crisis Manager and Communicator, with in-depth knowledge of "What to do... How to respond timely. When... not if... "a major event happens.

Stewart Mupazviriho
Digital Communications and Webmaster Director

Stewart Mupazviriho is the Digital Communications and Webmaster Director on the DRIE Toronto Executive Team. Stewart has extensive Business Continuity Management experience across multiple financial services institutions. He specializes in the development and governance of technology recovery frameworks and strategies that enable organizations to resiliently weather the impacts of operational disruptions. Stewart is a Certified Functional Continuity Professional (CFCP) with DRI Canada. He also holds a Computer Network Systems Diploma from Seneca College and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Rhodes University in South Africa.

Seeta Mohan
Education and Partnership Director

Seeta Mohan is the Education and Partnership Director on the DRIE Toronto Executive Team. Seeta is a practicing Global Risk Management professional with extensive leadership and subject matter expertise in the provision of Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management and Risk Assurance in the financial and insurance sectors. She holds Business Continuity Professional designations from DRI Canada and  Business Continuity certifications from BCI. Seeta has been serving on DRIE Toronto Board for several years and is a philanthropist at heart.

Maurine Dyer
Digest Editor

Maurine Dyer is a multi-disciplined seasoned Risk Management professional with over 25 years in the Canadian financial sector. She is a past member of the DRIE Toronto Board of Directors, past Director of Communications and currently the DRIE Digest Editor. Maurine has a passion for helping organizations build their resilience and capabilities to stay afloat and make a profit while taking risks.
